Giant axolotl. [ thank you. ] They were... old, I think. Like the kind of old where they were pretty out of touch with reality but also still insightful about other things. They were also pretty elusive and good about not actually answering questions without posing other questions first. Aloof, but also sometimes patient. I guess they were good enough as a god since they did it for so long.
I don't think they were right for the job initially. They're doing better now and they're still dedicated to what they set out to do, but... I don't know. We don't always see eye to eye, and we don't talk much. I get most of my information from the girls.
Our approaches to things, mostly. [ ... ] I don't resent them. I also just don't know how to feel about them most of the time, but I'm not going to abandon the project halfway through either.

I imagine that it is not often that a god simply retires. Did they give any reason for that decision?

Not a real one. I think... they just wanted to. They'd been God for so long they thought retirement sounded nice.
